A 69-year-old retiree from Australia, David Clarkson, set a new Guinness World Record by visiting 120 pubs and ordering drinks within 24 hours. Clarkson, originally from Britain, embarked on his challenge at the Captain Cook Hotel in Sydney, then continued to 119 more establishments, having a drink at each stop. Guinness World Records Adjudicator Pete Fairbairn monitored Clarkson’s attempt, joining him for the initial and final four hours. Witnesses accompanied Clarkson during the interim period to gather evidence. Clarkson clinched the record at the Sussex Garden Bar, surpassing the previous record held by Australians Harry Kooros and Jake Loiterton, who visited 99 pubs in the same time frame.
